Our Background

The full story of becoming Victorious

Victorious Injury and Sports Clinic is the brainchild of myself, Vickie-Louise Hunter. I wanted to create a clinic that was accessible to all people in all aspects of life, not just athletes, which is why I've named my clinic Victorious Injury and Sports Clinic: we specialise in injuries: from their prevention to treatment and rehabilitation.

I have a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Sports Therapy (Hons) and a HND in Sports Therapy, First Aid for Pitch-side, Resuscitation and Defibrillation, Kinesio Taping Qualifications, Taping for Sport, & Dry Cupping Certification, Oncology Massage Certification, Cryotherapy Certification and this year am completing Acupuncture Certification.

I completed a number of years of work experience and working for a private clinic before founding Victorious. Although Scottish, I was raised in Canada between the ages of 1 and 17 and have dual nationality, so I have quite the quirky accent! Outside of work, I love socialising with friends either talking about movies, or playing board games, climbing, going to the beach, BBQ's and gardening as well as a slight addition to Tiktok.

Where are we headed

We moved to New Mill Road in September 2022, and have now moved to Holmquarry Road. The unit is bespoke to exactly the needs of our clients with plenty of parking on the street, in the car park or around the corner at Dunelm! We have rehabilitation equipment in our clinic complete with a treadmill to do onsite Gait Analysis. We have got lots of new stuff in the pipeline, but we are most excited to finally introduce Aesthetics to the clinic through Kaasen Cryotherapy. This is an excellent system and one that will be of use to all our clientele! Read all about its benefits here

Who we help

We deal with people from all walks of life, and all ages. You don't need to be an athlete, or in the least bit sporty to come and visit us.  We welcome anyone with any kind of niggle or pain to see if we can help. We have disclosures completed for working with under 16's as well as being fully insured.

We have worked with teams including Cartha Queens Park Rugby, American Football teams (Glasgow Tigers, East Kilbride Pirates and Inverclyde Goliaths), as well as working with Olympic athletes, common wealth athletes and British Team athletes, Olympic weightlifting club KAWOL (Kilmarnock Amateur Weightlifters and Olympic Weightlifters). This year we have the pleasure of working with teams with Kilmarnock FC Academy, Beith Juniors FC and Greenock Wanderers Womens Rugby Team.

We've worked Murrayfield, Football Masters Teams as well as local grassroots teams, as well as working with people from all walks of life that have no sporting backgrounds.

Growth

This year Vickie is set to complete a course on Acupuncture, and the following year Scar Tissue Rehabilitation; eventually going for her Masters in Sports Therapy or Physiotherapy.

We will continue to do placements in conjunction with City of Glasgow College for HND students, as well as with Sunderland University students. We often feature our students on our Facebook page, and have recently introduced student massages (discounted massages so students get their work experience).

We will also be working alongside Physiotherapy students this coming year and have plans to incorporate a Physiotherapist within the business in the next 2 years.
